Two months later....

So I did my first blog post with great intentions, and then got caught up doing a bunch of other stuff.

After finishing the Napoleonic riflemen, I set about a horde of British Line Infantry from Perry Miniatures, and bit off a lot more than I could chew. 40+ infantry and a troop of light dragoons and I was overwhelmed with figures in the painting table, so I packed them safely into the cupboard for a break and set about the Aliens - Another Glorious Day in the Corps starter set.

I’ve finished the aliens after trying a range of paint schemes, but alas the heroes remain unfinished before the next project came along.

Mrs MLG and I made a start on preparation for the stores next window display, featuring Orks and Tyranids in a battlescene inspired by our trips to Warhammer World in Nottingham.

So I got involved in painting Orks...Yellow....I always thought that yellow armoured Orks (Bad Moonz for those in the know) looked cool, but painting yellow is a heck of a task, and again fatigue set in and I needed a change.

So at the turn of the year some friends and I started talking about starting a new fantasy army each, that we would use for a variety of games systems, Warlords of Erehwon, Oathmark, Kings of War and Age of Sigmar, and now also Warhammer Fantasy Battle 6th edition.

I’ve had a whole army worth of Dark Elves in my office cupboard partially built since before the Old World was consumed by Chaos, so I thought this was the right time to dust it off and get it finished.
Therefore I present my first unit - 10 of the Witch Kings finest cannon fodder.

These guys and gals are cobbled together from a variety of now out of production Elven kits, my intention being that my Dark Elf army had travelled to Ulthuan on a raid, but became stranded and have to pillage what resources they can, so a mix of Dark Elf, High Elf and a splatter of Wood Elf parts.

My next unit will be 10 crossbow armed Elves, and a character on Cold One, so I can get started with some small games once Lockdown and restrictions allow, to get my head around these rules I have played in a year or 17.....

Alongside all of this we’ve been playing Exploding Kittens and Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza, these are both excellent games but remove all rings before playing the latter :)

Back with another post soon...
