In June of 1815, twenty years of continuous warfare known as the Napoleonic Wars came to a dramatic and soggy conclusion on a battlefield in Belgium. This conflict spanned the globe, with European powers fighting in places like India, Egypt, the Caribbean, and even America. The greatest generals of the era finally met on the field; Britain's own Duke of Wellington stood on a little-known ridge, facing off against the infamous Emperor of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte. In this epic showdown, Napoleon's attacking forces were met with steadfast resistance from a mixture of British, German, Dutch, and Belgian brigades who valiantly held their position for over nine hours. However, the arrival of Prussian forces under General BlǬcher secured the Duke's victory and put an end to the war.

The Battle of Waterloo became a true landmark in military history, one that will never fade, and nothing on such a grand scale would be seen again.
