Anglo-Zulu War Zulu Starter Army - Black Powder
Anglo-Zulu War Zulu Starter Army - Black Powder
The Zulu warriors were feared opponents who were skilled, well-commanded, and well-equipped. Led by Shaka, the founder of their nation, the regiments were made up of small, well-trained companies and could have up to 1,000 soldiers. They were organized into divisions that could move quickly and precisely, using the infamous "Horns of the Buffalo" attack formation. The army's unique military system also designated units as either married or unmarried, with unmarried men being forbidden to wed until they proved their bravery by defeating their enemies. The soldiers carried throwing spears, muskets, and short stabbing spears, and their regimental shields were designed to distinguish them from one another. Once they had shed blood in battle, they were permitted to wear the head ring that symbolized their status as full-fledged and married warriors, showing their elevated position in society. This fierce and proud army of 40,000 men was ready to defend Zululand against any and all
