British Hornet Medium Walker Konlikt '47

The US medium walkers showed their effectiveness and versatility in combat, leading to the British Army requesting more through the Allied Lend-Lease program. Although they welcomed deliveries of Grizzly and Mudskipper medium walkers, British procurement officers were hesitant about the more specialized Kodiak and Bruin variants. To compensate, they developed the Hornet based on the reliable Grizzly chassis, sacrificing some anti-aircraft capability in exchange for better support in urban terrain. With its powerful utility arms, the Hornet can clear obstacles, build defences, and take out light vehicles while maintaining momentum. Armed with four .50 cal HMGs and a heavy automatic cannon, it is effective in suppressing infantry and close-range vehicle combat. Although trials with a longer barrelled automatic cannon showed improved range, manoeuvrability issues in urban spaces were a hindrance. While not equipped for anti-tank combat, a platoon of Hornets would typically include a standard Grizzly for added protection.
