Italian Centurion Heavy Infantry Squad Konlikt '47
Italian Centurion Heavy Infantry Squad Konlikt '47
As a response to the September 1943 Allied landings on Italian soil, Italy's King Victor Emmanuel III arrested Mussolini and overthrew his government. Seeking an armistice with the Allies, Italy's armed forces were thrown into confusion with conflicting briefings and orders, leading to splintering within the Army. With the country divided and lacking heavy armoured vehicles, the reconstruction of the armies took divergent paths for the RSI and Kingdom of Italy. In the north, the fascist National Republican Army (ENR) concentrated their mechanized forces in flying reinforcement columns, while the Co-Belligerent Italian Army (ECI) in the south formed conventional armoured forces with the support of US and British tanks and walkers. On both sides of the imposing Gustav Line, elite Italian formations utilized newly acquired Rift-tech equipment, including heavy armour and jump infantry. While the most fanatical ENR soldiers joined the Legio Aquilla, loyal soldiers often chose to join the Centurion.
