Some believe that vampires existed long before the great empires, while others see them as a manifestation of evil. Regardless, these elusive creatures can be found lurking in ancient crypts beneath the Marches, where they conduct their studies and experiments and only emerge to feed on blood when necessary. Although they consider themselves above mortal rulers, vampires may temporarily align with one if it suits their agenda. However, their services do not come cheap, and it is a rare king who outlives their partnership with these powerful beings.
