The Samurai, an esteemed warrior caste in Japanese history, have gained almost mythical status. Throughout the Sengoku period from 1467 to 1603, they were renowned for their courageous and legendary exploits. As the Emperor and the Shogun struggled to maintain control over the volatile Daimyos, the Samurai followed a strict code of conduct known as Bushido and constantly sought to improve their fighting techniques. When the musket was introduced in 1543, the Samurai saw it as a chance to further demonstrate their bravery and prowess.

This product contains:

    20 plastic foot Samurai
Decal sheet with Takeda clan markings
    Assembly leaflet
    Plastic bases

Samurai would train with many weapons and today are most associated with the katana. This was only one part of their arsenal; yari (spear), yumi (bow) and no-dachi (greatsword) were often used as well.

Each Samurai would be a master at one weapon or more as well as expected to follow an increasingly rigid moral code. Able to fight on their own or in coordinated groups they are the best fighters at a Daimyo’s disposal.
